Q: Who teaches Professional Development Academy courses?
A: These courses are based on real industry experience and are taught by industry professionals who meet the teaching qualifications for California Community Colleges.

Q: Will I receive a Certificate of Completion for my Customer Appreciation class?
A: Only after you complete the other two classes (Mastering COmmunication & Dealing with Difficult People) in the Superior Service course. Certificates of Completion are issued by the College hosting the series of classes and are provided to the student, upon completion of the series.

Q: How long have Community Colleges been providing onsite training for employers?
A: Just about as long as they have been in existence. This service to the business community is not new, but can be a key resource in helping employers grow and prosper.

Q: How do I register for a class or series of classes?
A: Check out the training schedule for the college nearest to your home or office. If your local community college does not have a class schedule that meets your needs, call 1-877-855-5929 and a regional coordinator will help you find the class you need.

Q: How can the Community College's offer courses for FREE?
A: The Community Colleges in San Diego and Imperial counties received an Economic and Workforce Development Grant from the State Chancellor's Office to develop training programs to meet the business community's needs and the State of California reimburses community colleges for training costs when minimum enrollment is met.

Q: Are Supervision courses designed for seasoned supervisors and managers?
A: Whether you are a seasoned manager or looking to brush-up on your skills or an aspiring supervisor, Supervision courses will better prepare you to face the challenges of leading productive teams.

Q: How long are the Customer Service, Frontline and Supervision training sessions?
A: Typically 3 hours each, but some colleges offer a 6-hour program.

Q: Do you have courses in Spanish?
A: YES, Customer Service is available, but only when a group of Spanish-speaking participants requests it with a minimum of 20-26 people.

Q: I want to make arrangements to have a class onsite, and my employer meets the criteria, what are my next steps?
A: Contact the Community College in your area and they will make all the arrangements.
